Once we have reached our targeted amount of families attending, additional funds raised will provide support to Autism New Zealand Inc in the community, Autism NZ works directly with individuals and families who have a child with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, Autism NZ Inc provides Training and Seminars as well as information education resources, and they are often the voice for the families working as an advocate dealing with Government and local organisations. Autism NZ Inc has branches through out New Zealand working in communities where there is a need. With limited funding Autism NZ is reliant on your generosity to ensure these important services will continue to reach those that need it the most.

By supporting the Annual Special Needs Children Party you will also be providing much needed support to Families with children that suffer from Autism Spectrum disorder in the community through the services and work of Autism New Zealand Inc.

Heart Kids Day Out

We would like to sincerely thank you for the wonderful support you have recently provided.

@Heart (formerly Heart Children New Zealand) has been supporting heart children and families since 1984. It is the only charity dedicated to supporting children with heart defects and their families throughout New Zealand. A congenital heart condition is the most common serious birth abnormality needing ongoing medical intervention. Each week, 12 children are born in New Zealand with a heart defect and every year 30-40 children lose their battle to survive. @Heart is a national organization with 22 branches and support grounds.

@Heart provides heart children and their families with practical and emotional support through its Family Support Network. Each year @Heart organizes special Camps: Camp Brave Hearts for 8-12 year olds and Camp Teen Beat for 13-17 year olds. Most heart children do not get the opportunity to go to school camps due to their health. Heart camps help heart kids improve life skills and self confidence.

Many children and their families from throughout the country will at some stage spend time at Auckland’s Paediatric Cardiac Unit in Starship Hospital which is the only Unit in New Zealand. @Heart provides support whilst in hospital that includes visits from the Family Support Worker, providing practical items such as phone cards and essentials such as toiletries and food vouchers. @Heart to most is a friendly face away from home. Situated next to the hospital, families are welcome for a coffee and to use the phone or internet. When the children and families go home they are linked to the local branch or support ground for ongoing support.

Christchurch/Canterbury 2013 Family Fun Day

All the Team at the Christchurch/Canterbury Family Fun Day and Fostering Kids Inc would like to thank you for your generous support to this year’s event.

We have selected some really deserving children with special needs or disadvantages and their families from all over the region that are really excited about attending this year’s event. These children and families have been selected with the aid and support of numerous organisations/agencies and schools in the region/community that work directly with the families, for some of these families to attend a day like this is just not normally realistic due to the financial and disabilities restrictions the family may have. The Christchurch/Canterbury Family Fun Day gives them the opportunity to meet other families that can understand what it’s like and relax in a fantastic group atmosphere.

There special local families will have a fantastic day out, all the food and activities are provided to them free of cost so they can just focus on some well deserved family time, if you have provided your business cards we will have attached these on the tickets so the families know exactly what your business has provided for them, we hope they may either write you a little thank you note or spread the word on what a fantastic business you are.

Fostering Kids Inc (cc 25139) as the host of this year’s Christchurch/Canterbury Family Fun Day would also like to thank you for making this day such a wonderful time for children in foster care and their caregivers. I was impressed with this business from the minute I drove up and saw how meticulously clean the workshop is. I kept thinking that you couldn’t keep the faultless service, but you did! The quote was quickly generated by computer and was less than I expected, the booking was made for the following week (complete with loan car) and my car was finished when you said it would be. I received a phone call to say it was ready and when I went to pick it up I couldn’t believe that not only had you done the panel beating and painting, but you had also cleaning it and even vacuumed the inside. That was enough to confirm my first impressions of a company in a class of its own but when I got in the car there were further pleasant surprises – a pen/note pad and best of all a container of colour matched paint to hide any stone chips in the future.
