At Harewood Panel & Paint, we believe in supporting the community that supports us — especially when it comes to protecting our tamariki.
We’re proud to back the IDFNZ – Kids Foundation, a charity doing incredible work for young Kiwis living with serious immune disorders, liver disease, and those who have undergone organ transplants. Their support helps families navigate some of the toughest challenges life can throw at them.
June was Childhood Liver Disease Awareness Month, and we’ve joined the Foundation in raising awareness about the signs to look out for — because early detection saves lives.
Know the Signs: Beware Yellow
One of the key campaigns during awareness month is Beware Yellow — highlighting the early signs of childhood liver disease. These signs can sometimes be subtle but spotting them early can make a huge difference.
If your baby shows signs like yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), pale stools, or a swollen tummy, it’s important to talk to your midwife or doctor. A simple blood test (often done with a heel prick) can help detect any liver problems early on.
