Paddling with purpose and performance
Last season, we sponsored the Zonta Dragons’ new paddles, and it’s been fantastic to see them put to such powerful use. The team tells us the paddles look amazing and feel great on the water, and more importantly, they’re already delivering results.
After a couple of regattas, the Zonta Dragons proudly took home a bronze medal in the 460m race on 23 November 2025. This was an especially rewarding achievement, as endurance has been a key focus of their training. Strong paddles, strong teamwork, and strong determination have clearly paid off.
What’s coming up for the Zonta Dragons
The 2026 season is kicking off, and there are some exciting events ahead. If you’re looking for a great way to support a local team, we encourage you to head along and cheer them on at their upcoming regattas:
- 18 January – Lake Ruataniwha
- 14 February – South Island Championships, Lake Ruataniwha, Twizel
- 15 March – Kaiapoi River Run
These events showcase not only athleticism and teamwork, but also the spirit of community that makes local sport so special.
