Some projects are more than just repairs. They become part of the family.
This classic race car has been part of the Harewood Panel & Paint story for more than a decade, and it’s one we’re incredibly proud to be involved with. As a local panel beater, we love working on vehicles that have a story to tell, especially those destined for the race track.
Back in 2016, our owner Jason had the unforgettable opportunity to get behind the wheel during the Skope Classic, with the generous permission of the car’s owner, Craig Pidgeon. It was a special moment that combined a passion for classic motorsport with years of craftsmanship, creating memories that still bring a smile today.

But our connection with this iconic car didn’t end when the chequered flag fell.
Over the years, we’ve continued to care for and maintain the car, ensuring it remains in top condition both on and off the track. From expert panel and paint work to ongoing maintenance and meticulous finishing, it’s been a privilege to help preserve a piece of motorsport history.

Whether we’re carrying out collision repairs, restoring a cherished classic, or perfecting a custom paint finish, every vehicle that comes through our workshop receives the same attention to detail. Watching this race car transform from workshop repairs back to its immaculate, race-ready condition is a reminder of why we love what we do.
We’re looking forward to seeing this beauty return to where it belongs at the Skope Classic in February 2027, continuing a story that’s been more than ten years in the making.
If you’re looking for an experienced Christchurch panel beater for everything from insurance repairs to classic car restoration and high-quality paintwork, we’d love to help.
We’ll be cheering this classic on from the sidelines, proud to have played a small part in keeping it ready for many more laps to come.
